Zippered pockets, stretch waist, and water resistant fabric make great “coaster pants”.

I ordered these PULI Men's Casual Pants with Drawstring Elastic Waist Water Resistant pants for my husband; he’s been looking for a pair of what he calls “coaster pants” or “theme park pants” that have zippered pockets, and can keep his valuables safely in place when he’s upside down on a coaster. Our teenage son loves roller coasters; we’ve spent many happy hours on family trips to theme parks, and have our own system designed to make the most of our time. My husband doesn’t like slowing down to stow things in lockers, or tossing his wallet into the chicken coop style “storage” available. He’s been trying to find a pair of pants with zippers that will help him hold onto his sunglasses, wallet, keys, etc. He has several “coaster shirts” with zippered pockets of Velcro flaps, and he’s been trying to find similar pants with zippered storage at an inexpensive price point. These pants are made from a blend of 89% polyamide/11% elastane. The fabric is lightweight, sturdy, and has a faint slippery feel that may be the water resistant fabric. Usually my husband prefers all-cotton khakis with a matte finish; he didn’t love the slightly slick feel of this manmade fabric. But he did love the pockets. The pants have four pockets; there are two slant pockets in the front, and two zippered pockets, one at the hip, and one in back. The zippers are slim plastic; they move smoothly, and zip completely shut. There’s room for my husband to stow his things in the zippered pockets; he doesn’t have to slow down and find a locker. I don’t have to wait for him and my son to ride the coaster and hold all their valuables. Win win! These are more like a work pant than a regular pair of cotton khakis. They have an inner drawstring to adjust the waist;they have belt loops, and a stretchy elastic waistband that runs around about 80% of the waist. You can easily cover the stretchy part with a belt. The khaki color is pale brown; the fabric has some sheen and slickness, and it’s water resistant, not waterproof. The sales page says these pants are fine in light rain, but they’re not like waterproof waders. I tested them with a bit of water; it beaded up easily.I ordered these in my husband’s usual size, 34” x 30”. They were a bit large in the waist; this may be the wide stretch elastic waistband. Otherwise, they fit as expected. At the current price ($39.99), these are a bit spendy for a pair of manmade blend khakis. That being said, when you compare them to other pants intended for outdoor work or travel that have zippered storage pockets, they’re much less expensive than many brand name work pants, or boutique “travel” pants. My husband doesn’t love the slightly shiny texture of the fabric, but he really likes the zippered storage pockets. He’s been looking for “coaster pants” for a while, and these have the zippered pockets he needs. They’re also about 1/3 the price of high end boutique “travel” pants. For less than $40, these pants are great for a theme park visit, combining durable, water resistant fabrics, a stretchy waistband (eat all the funnel cakes and foot long hot dogs you want!), and those all important zippered pockets to hold ID, keys, wallet, and more.

High price and poor sizing with sound effects

These PULI pants are very light weight and material, so much that I can fold them and carry them in my back pocket. The material has some elasticity to it, maybe 10%-15% I'm guessing, but enough to make them comfortable if you are bending and stretching. The material makes a swishing sound when you're brushing against the fabric or walking around, enough so that I've received comments from people around me. The drawstrings exit out of the waist band on each side at about where your pelvic bone is, so tying them together doesn't make much sense because it causes the front of the pants to bulge out and looks terrible. Pulling the strings tighter individually and putting a slip knot doesn't work either as the knots just pull back through the eye holes (because the holes are too large). I've solved the dilemma by running each draw string through an appropriate sized small metal washer (small washer hole for the string and large enough diameter not to go through the waste band hole). Why should I have to do this to make them fit?The workmanship and stitching is well done and they are stylish enough to use as casual dress pants (except for the sound they make). I cannot comment on the durability yet but I think they would hold up without much abuse. Probably perfect for golfing, bowling and lightweight travel pants, but for me the material is too lightweight for rugged hiking and heavier outdoor activities. Casual walking or playing with bunnies would be OK.The sizing is a problem. I (currently) have a 38" waist and ordered size 38. A labeled size 38 in these pants is actually 40" with no stretch, 42" with some stretch and almost 44" at max stretch. They fit so loose on me that they fall down without wearing a belt or somehow tightening the draw strings. The inseam is measured correct at 30" although they look long when wearing. A pair with size 32 waist that was erroneously sent to me actually fit (albeit too tightly) before I realized the sizing error. I think I would order a size 36 pants for my size 38" waste if I had enough interest remaining to keep hacking at this. But I don't, so I won't.Finally, in my opinion these pants are very overpriced for what you're getting. The only way I think they would be worth $40 is if they also included $10 or $20 in the pockets. My inhouse reality check person also independently pointed out the swishy sound effect, the baggy fit and the high price, so it's not only me.

Used them daily and outdoors: lightweight, comfortable, and practical

I tested these pants both for everyday wear and outdoor activities, and I was impressed by how versatile they are. I wore them for walks under the sun and also for running errands, and they worked well in both situations without feeling out of place. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy, which makes a noticeable difference when moving around. They don’t restrict movement and stay comfortable, especially in warm weather since they dry quickly and don’t stick to the skin. I also tried them in light drizzle, and the water resistance worked fine, though they’re clearly not meant for heavy rain. The pockets are a strong point: well placed, with zippers that make it easy to carry essentials like a phone or keys without worrying about losing them. The elastic waistband with drawstring is also a nice touch, especially if you prefer not to wear a belt. One thing to note is that because they’re lightweight, the fabric isn’t thick or rugged, so they’re not ideal for cold weather or heavy-duty use. But for their intended purpose, they perform well.Overall, I recommend them for anyone looking for comfortable, breathable, and functional pants for warm climates, travel, or light outdoor activities.

nice

These PULI casual pants are a great pick if you want something lightweight and versatile for everyday wear or outdoor activities. The fabric feels breathable and comfortable right away, and the elastic waistband with drawstring makes them easy to adjust for a good fit without feeling restrictive. The 30" length fits as expected, and the overall cut is modern without being too slim or too baggy. The khaki color also works well for both casual outfits and more active use like hiking or walking. One of the standout features is how practical they are. The quick-dry, water-resistant material actually does a solid job with light moisture, which is perfect for unpredictable weather or being outdoors. The zipper pockets are a nice touch too—they keep essentials secure without adding bulk. They’re not meant for heavy rain or extreme conditions, but for general use, travel, or light outdoor activity, they check a lot of boxes and feel like a really good value.

They look and feel great, although I ditched the drawstring.

I love packing pants like this for international travel, because they pack down so tightly. These fit great if you're relatively fit...they aren't too loose, and they aren't too tight. I removed the drawstring because I found that it was just getting in the way; the button closure holds things together, and I can just add a belt if I really need it. I'm also thankful for the side and back zipper pockets. These allow for a more secure place to carry a wallet, phone, or passport. These would actually be five stars if there were two zipper pockets on the back (one on each side), instead of just the one.

Love these pants

I've been wearing these pants weekly for about a month now. They are some of the most comfortable and best-fitting pants I own. I have a physical job, and at any time I can have a pocket full of screws or tools, and these pants have held up. They've been covered in mud and manure, and they still look almost new. The fit is spot-on in width and length, while not being too tight or loose. Warm to hot weather is the sweet spot for these, but I did wear them in 20-degree weather, though I would not recommend it. They stand up to repeated washing on hot with a steam setting, so don't worry about getting too messy. No problems with the hardware on these, either. You can't go wrong with this tremendous value in some of the best pants you will own.

Great pants with really far apart drawstrings.

I really like these pants. They are slightly stretchy with a stretchy waist band, which makes it easier to for multiple body styles. The khaki color is really nice and they definitely have a waterproofing effect due to the material. They are pretty light weight, are a little breathable, bit block most of the wind. I wouldn't consider them a lightweight summer pant. I own multiple pants of this style from a few major brands and these match the other in quality for less money. At ten inches apart, my one and only gripe is the draw strings are really far apart. Like, comically far apart. They are 10 inches apart compared to between 2 and 3.5 inches apart like my other pants. If you have the horrible "noassatall" disease like I do, this means that the draw strings kind of dig into your skin if you actually use them to sinch your wand. Luckily the band is stretchy enough that my crack doesn't show unless I'm really bent over.

Lightweight, quick-dry hikers with secure pockets—great for travel and casual outdoors

I picked up the PULI Men’s Casual/Hiking Pants (38W x 30L, Khaki) for warm-weather outings and travel, and they’ve been a solid value. They’re noticeably lightweight, dry quickly after sweat or a light splash, and the zipper pockets are the standout feature—perfect for keeping keys, cards, or a phone secure when you’re moving around. What I likeLightweight and breathable: Comfortable in warmer temps and doesn’t feel heavy or restrictive on walks/hikes.Quick-dry / water-resistant: Handles light rain, mist, or spills well and dries fast.Drawstring + elastic waist: Easy comfort fit, especially for long days or fluctuating waist comfort after meals.Zipper pockets: Adds real utility for travel, hikes, theme parks, or anywhere you don’t want things falling out. What to know before you buyFit can be “athletic casual,” not tailored: The material and elastic waist give it more of a utility look than a dressy chino look.Water-resistant, not waterproof: Fine for drizzle or splashes, but it’ll eventually soak through in steady rain.Fabric feel: This is a technical, swishy outdoor-style fabric—not soft cotton. If you prefer a natural fabric feel, keep that in mind.Sizing note (helpful for ordering)With 38W x 30L, the waist comfort is forgiving due to elastic and drawstring, but pay close attention to the inseam and leg opening if you prefer a slimmer or roomier leg.Bottom line: If you want affordable, lightweight, quick-dry pants with secure zip pockets for outdoor walking, casual hikes, and travel, these are a strong pick. I’d give them 5 stars if the fabric felt a bit more premium and the cut was slightly more consistent.
